I consider myself a generalist and lifelong learner who actively seeks out and absorbs new information—from people, books, the internet, new experiences, and travel. Basically, I follow my curiosity.

My background in sociology and instructional design gives me a unique perspective with relation to design and user research. I’m able to focus not only on user-centered interactions, but also keep in mind issues of positionality, structural causes of individual problems, and unintended consequences as well.

All of that’s to say, I design around observation and exploration of human interaction in all its messy and complex glory.

Why I Do What I Do

In the following video from my recent Grad Show, I explain what drew me to interaction design… all in 20 slides (with 20 seconds per slide).

Oh, and I have an amazing dog named Rainer :)

Let’s Talk about Design

You might find me walking my dog around LA County, but we're probably more likely to connect if you send a message :)
